Let’s begin the conversation with a bit of personal background –

“I was born in Charlotte, NC but grew up from the age of three in Abingdon, Virginia.  Next was a move back to NC to attend college, then got married and returned to Charlotte where we raised our children.  While there we kept our sailboat in Charleston.  Our weekends kept getting longer and longer until we decided that we enjoyed it too much to wait for retirement, so we moved here in 1989.

“We’ve lived in the heart of downtown Charleston and later in Wild Dunes, but currently reside in nearby Mount Pleasant.  I really didn’t intend to move but someone made a great offer on our home so we moved into a house we’d originally purchased as a rental investment.

“As for education, I went to William King High School in Abingdon, VA (no way am I going to reveal the year I graduated).  Next came the University of NC at Greensboro (it was called the Woman’s College of the Univ. of NC at that time) where I studied Mathematics.”

“My husband Mike and I have six grown children, five grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Of course, spending time with my family brings me great joy.  Reading, walks on the beach, the theatre and movies are always enjoyed… and I just LOVE cats!  Traveling – especially ocean cruises – and involvement in church activities such as foreign missions are also dear to my heart.

About real estate and being part of the Wild Dunes Real Estate (WDRE) team –

During my previous life as District Sales Manager for a cruise line I always thought about entering real estate as a long-term profession so I got my real estate license in North Carolina in 1986. So when we moved to Charleston in 1989, I obtained a South Carolina license also and worked for a firm in downtown Charleston where I lived at the time.  When we moved to Wild Dunes in 1986 the opportunity to join Wild Dunes Real Estate presented itself and I quickly accepted.  I continue to hold a broker’s license in both states.

“Basically I do a lot of the same things now that I did with the cruise line … I love meeting people from the world over and helping them find the perfect property that will meet – or better yet, exceed – their expectations.

“Serving as a Broker and a Sales Executive, my specialization is luxury properties in Wild Dunes, on Isle of Palms and on Sullivan’s Island.

“The fellowship of my teammates brings me great satisfaction.  As a result, we pride ourselves as being seasoned agents who not only know more about the Wilds Dunes community but also sell far more property here than any other firm.

“I want my prospective clients to know that my integrity, honesty and professionalism have been and will always to be priorities in my working relationship with them.  I care about them and will listen to their needs.”

A selection of the most significant business credentials include (but certainly not limited to) –

“Honored as a Lifetime member of the Million Dollar Club; a Graduate-Realtor Institute (GRI);  a Certified International Property Specialist (CIPS) candidate;  a member of the Worldwide Recreation & Resort Council (RRC).”

Some personal thoughts about the greater Charleston area –

“Charleston is an exciting place to live since it offers a European flavor with all the cultural benefits — the symphony, ballet, theatre, history, etc.  We also have a wide variety of sports from fishing and boating, to tennis and golf, plus the beach … all within 20 minutes of each other.  There are just so many choices when it comes to finding fun things to do.”

“What excites me the most about working in the area is that it’s almost a paradise.  No matter where you go or what you do, you have the opportunity to meet people from all over the world.  In a way, it’s almost like being on vacation … without leaving home!  And this is an ex-cruise line manager talking!”
